This is where it all starts: white stone houses, the smells of the markets, the singing accent of the inhabitants… and the sunshine of the region Aquitaine.
The nature, the region, the cooking, the wines, the history, a thousand things to do, to see, to experience, that is the south-west.
Enjoy the beautiful environment and a wonderful stay.
That is how you'll be welcomed at the Château des Reynats, with its perfectly fitting name (« Lou Reynats » = « for the Kings » in the langue d'oc); just outside the town of Périgueux, next to the international golf course, on a 2 hectare park with terraces looking out over a green little valley. The hundred-year-old trees shelter the tennis court and the swimming pool; the stylish and comfortable rooms offer peace and quiet to travellers, the cooks from the guides that are known by connoisseurs buzz about, everything is thought over…
The Château des Reynats is happy to welcome you.
The Château des Reynats was built during the middle of the 19th century, a period that left strong English influences in the Dordogne architecture. Therefore, the main tower does not have a staircase, but round spaces, while the majestic staircase can be found in a corner of the entrance, opposite a large fireplace, just like in an English hall. The 2nd floor counts thirteen rooms and suites; the ground floor offers a perspective of over thirty metres where the restaurant L'Oison, the small lounge rooms and the Bistro La Verrière can receive more than 200 people when all the rooms are communicating.
The Orangerie, at fifty metres from the Castle, at the end of a lane with chestnut trees, was built over ten years ago, at the site of the former outbuildings, forming the modern part of the Château des Reynats. The Orangerie counts 37 rooms with a modern interior and comfort as a priority. Some parts, such as the round windows, the roof structure, the Roman tiles, the walls made out of chalk from Saint Astier, extracted at less than 10 km from the Castle, show the work of craftsmen from the Périgord, which gave the Castle its charming character. During the summer, the castle is entirely covered by a honeysuckle, which makes it look like one of those typical, sober but so beautiful estates from the Dordogne that you'll probably be visiting.
Restaurant L'Oison is is the main restaurant of the Château des Reynats. It almost covers the entire ground floor, in a majestic room with a height of f 4,50 m and a length of almost 25 m.
The castle's reputation goes along with the one of l'Oison that has only known recognised chefs for the past twenty years, who can be found in guides like Michelin, Gault and Millau… All these chefs have contributed to building our restaurant's national reputation with the same ideas about respecting products and the same taste for creativity and originality.
A large veranda, hooked up like a glass boat to the castle, offers space to the second restaurant since 2011. La Verrière is the « chic bistro » of les Reynats, a bistro with a chef and cooks who spend all their time in to offering original and gourmet menus starting at 18,00 €.
A job well done! Restaurant « La Verrière », cosy and original, offers you the best way to discover the double view on our park and the talent of our chefs.
Open every day, from Monday to Sunday, lunch & dinner.
